Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer, Deep

L' Oreal released this liquid highlighter in four different shades, 901 Fair Glow, 902 Light Glow, 903 Medium Glow, and 904 Deep Glow. I have the shade 904 Deep Glow which is the darkest shade out of the four. The shade range is pretty good and I'm glad that they included a deeper shade for people with deeper skin tones.

This product was released years ago and I've always wanted to try it! It looks like a cross between a liquid highlighter and a glowy primer. The packaging really nice and sleek as well. It comes with a small pointed tip, which dispenses the perfect amount of product.

L' Oreal true match Lumi Glotion shade 904 Deep Glow

The product itself comes in a 1.35 fl oz tube and retails at different prices for different shades. Deep Glow is the most expensive at $12.99 both at Walmart and Amazon. Target though seems to keep all shades the same price at $12.99.

First impressions and swatches

It is a somewhat thin run consistency and it blends out beautifully. It doesn't emphasize texture or pores at all. The shade 904 Deep Glow is a beautiful copper bronze color that looks great on my dark skin tone. It reminds me of a tanner version of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz.

It's a great natural-looking highlight and adds a nice discreet glow to my complexion. The formula is very smooth and easy to apply. I like to apply it beneath my foundation or BB cream for an extra bit of radiance. It can also be worn alone if you want a more natural looking.

The initial glow fades away after a while

The thing I don't like about it, however, is that the initial glow it gives fades away after about thirty minutes. It's not a bad product by any means and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for an affordable liquid highlighter. But if you're looking for something that will give you a long-lasting glow, then this isn't the product for you.

Another thing to note is that the shade Deep Glow can be a bit off-putting for some people. It's a very deep bronze color and can come across as too rich for some skin tones. I would recommend trying out a few different shades before settling on one.

Lumi Glotion ingredients

The natural glow enhancer contains glycerin, dimethicone, and niacinamide which are good for the skin. Dimethicone is a silicone that helps to smooth out the skin and makeup products glide on more easily. Glycerin is a humectant which means it helps the skin to retain moisture. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that helps to brighten the skin and even out skin tone.

Who might need this product?

I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a natural-looking radiance, especially if you have dry skin. If you have oily skin, I would suggest setting it with a powder highlighter to help it last longer. Also for no makeup look days, this is perfect to just add a bit of glow to the skin without looking like you're wearing makeup.

Is it a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter?

I don't think so. The Hollywood Flawless Filter is more like a glowy primer and makeup base in one. It also contains skin-care benefits like anti-aging properties and SPF 15 sun protection. It's definitely a more luxurious product and the price reflects that at $44.

The L'Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion is a more affordable alternative that will give you a nice natural-looking dewy look. I would say it's more similar to Versed Luminizing Glow Drops, which is a liquid highlighter.

Versed Luminizing Glow Drops versus Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer

The two products are very similar in terms of consistency and shade range. They both have a thin watery consistency that blends out beautifully. I would say the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion has a more natural-looking glow whereas the Versed Luminizing Glow Drops give you a more noticeable highlight.

Fafah Fashion radiance glow

Another highlighter to check out from a black woman-owned brand is the Glow Liquid Illuminator form Fafah Fashion. It comes in two shades: flashglow and uplifting glow. The light flashglow shade is perfect for fairer skin tones and the dark uplifting glow shade is ideal for deeper skin tones.

The Fafah Fashion Glow Liquid Illuminator has a more concentrated pigmentation than both the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion and the Versed Luminizing Glow Drops. It's a bit more expensive at $28 but a little goes a long way with this product.

Overall, I think the L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion is a good product. It's affordable, easy to find in stores, and gives a nice natural glow to the skin. If you're looking for a long-lasting highlight though, you might want to try something else.
