I tried 3 comfort shoes for standing all day
Comfortable shoes are a must-have for anyone that works on their feet all day. Whether you’re an office worker, nurse, doctor, waiter, or retail employee, having comfy and supportive shoes can make a huge difference in your ability to perform your job effectively. But finding the right pair of comfortable shoes can be tricky, especially when there are so many options out there. So today, let’s take a look at some tips and tricks for finding shoes that will keep your feet happy, even if you spend all day on them.
Tips for choosing comfortable shoes
First, it’s important to consider the shape of your foot. Are you flat-footed? Do you have high arches? What about bunions or other common foot conditions? Knowing your specific foot shape can help you choose shoes that offer the right amount of support for your individual needs.
Next, think about the materials used in the shoe construction. For instance, leather tends to be more durable and supportive than fabric or synthetic materials like plastic or rubber. If possible, try testing out several different pairs of shoes and walking around the store in them before making your final decision. This will help you get a feel for how they perform while on your feet.
Finally, don’t forget to consider whether or not you need arch support. If your job requires standing all day long, extra cushioning is usually recommended – but if you’re sitting at a desk most of the time, this may not be necessary. And remember that it can sometimes take some trial and error to find the perfect pair of shoes, so don’t be afraid to experiment until you find what works best for your foot shape, workplace requirements, and personal preferences!
As a community pharmacist, I spent 12 hours plus on my feet standing and walking back and forth. During my shift and at the end of the day, my feet feel sore and ache. That led me on a journey to find the perfect shoe that would provide me with comfort and support.
Arch support
First, I looked for shoes with good arch support. When you spend all day walking around on your feet, it’s important to have shoes that help keep your arches from getting fatigued or strained. This can be achieved by shopping for shoes made from materials like leather or canvas that provide extra cushioning and support for your feet.
Shock absorption
Another important feature is good shock absorption. Whether I’m standing in line waiting to check out a patient or running up and down the pharmacy aisle looking for medication refills, there are always plenty of opportunities for my feet to get jostled and jarred. That’s why it’s important to find shoes with shock-absorbing soles that help cushion any impact or pressure on your feet.
Breathability
Finally, I also looked for shoes that were breathable and had plenty of room in the toe box. Feeling sweaty and constricted in my shoes is never a good combination when you spend all day on your feet! To ensure that my feet can breathe throughout the day, I usually look for shoes made from materials like leather or mesh that allow airflow and won’t trap moisture inside.
In my search for comfortable work shoes, I tried lots of different options – from running sneakers to sturdy boots to dress shoes. And while each of these styles had its pros and cons, I finally found a pair of comfortable work shoes that worked perfectly for my feet. Whether you’re looking for something basic or trendy, there are plenty of options out there to help keep your feet happy all day long!
Women's Angelfish Boat Shoe
The first pair I tried was Sperry shoes. They were a birthday gift I received in 2014 and I must say: the craftsmanship is superb. They are made from leather and had great arch support. The soles of the shoes were also very shock absorbent, which was perfect for my long days on my feet. However, they did not have a lot of breathabilities, so they weren’t the best choice in hot weather. But I still wear them as they look good with dresses, jeans, shorts... skirts. worth every penny!
Lightweight combat boots
The second pair I tried for a long day at work was Dr. Scholl's booties. They are great for cold wintertime and for people whose feet get cold. Or if you just want to add style to your look. they have plenty of toe room, which I appreciated after standing all day in a stuffy pharmacy setting. However, they don’t have much arch support or shock absorption, so my feet start feeling a bit more fatigued by midday.
Don't buy crocs for work
I also tried Crocs and contrary to popular belief, Crocs are not the most comfortable shoes for standing all day. They are made from a very lightweight and flexible material, which feels great at first. However, they don’t provide any cushioning or support, so my feet started to ache after just a few hours of wear.
Running shoes for the win
After trying out several different styles and brands, I ultimately found that Nike Air Pegasus offered everything I needed to stay comfortable on my feet throughout the day. They have good arch support and shock absorption, as well as breathable material that keeps my feet feeling cool even on the hottest days. Plus, they’re super stylish and come in a wide range of colors and patterns, making them the perfect choice for me as a busy community pharmacist and runner enthusiast!
So if you spend all day on your feet at work, don’t despair – there are plenty of comfortable shoes out there that can help keep your feet happy and healthy no matter what the day throws at you. Whether you prefer classic styles or trendy designs, do some experimenting to find the perfect pair for you! And don’t be afraid to ask your friends or coworkers for their recommendations – chances are someone else is struggling with the same problem
