Oatly oat drink whole milk review
I've been seeing Oatly oat milk in stores for a while now, but I never really knew what it was all about. I decided to give it a try because the blue color of the box was more appealing than other oat milk brands. Turns out, it's pretty awesome! Here are my thoughts on the whole oat drink.
Oat milk has a creamy texture and a mildly sweet taste. It is also high in fiber and protein, making it a nutritious choice for those who are looking for an alternative to cow's milk.
Starting a dairy-free diet
I decided to start a dairy-free diet for two reasons. The first was that I was having trouble digesting lactose, and the second was that I wanted to reduce my carbon footprint.
Cheese and butter will still be part of my diet at this point. However, cow’s milk makes me feel bloated and uncomfortable, even Lactaid. I tried cutting back, but it didn't seem to make a difference. My sister suggested that I try going completely dairy-free to see if it helped.
I was a little hesitant at first because I wasn't sure how I would survive without my favorite milk (Lactaid). But I decided to give it a try, and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I've tried soy milk and almond milk before and wanted something different to start my dairy-free diet.
Oat milk seemed like the perfect solution! It's lactose-free, vegan, and made from sustainable oats.
What is an oat drink?
Oat milk is a type of dairy-free milk that is made from oats. It is a popular alternative to cow's milk and other plant-based milk, such as soy milk and almond milk. It is a good source of several nutrients, including fiber, protein, and vitamins A and D. Additionally, oat milk is low in saturated fat and contains no cholesterol.
Oat milk can be used in the same way as cow's milk. It can be enjoyed on its own, used in cereal or oatmeal, added to coffee or tea, or used in baking recipes.
Personal thoughts about Oatly oat milk
The package is what got my intention at the store. It's very sleek, modern, and happy. I like the design and pastel blue colors they used. The taste is really good too! I've had it in my coffee, by itself, and even made crêpes with it.
By itself, oat milk is what you expect of it. It tastes like oat and is milky to the mouth. It's not overly sweet, and I found it to be a good pre and post workout snack.
In coffee, it takes getting used to the taste and feel. Oatmilk will water down your coffee, even after frothing it. Adding oat milk to coffee makes it taste less savory, in my opinion. If you want to try oat milk in your coffee, I recommend using oat creamer instead.
When I make crêpes with oat milk, they always come out fluffy and delicious! No complaints there. However, I still use regular butter in my recipes.
Oatly key components for me
Oatly oat milk is made of water, oats, rapeseed oil. Oat is a grain which basically makes oat milk a carbohydrate drink. Rapeseed oil is rich in vitamin E and omega fatty acids, both linked to better health when consumed in moderation.
One cup of oat milk contain among others 5g fat, 16g carbohydrate, 3gm protein, and 0.35 mg iron. I usually like to consume more protein than fat but that’s about most protein what we get in dairy free milk.

I think Oatly oat milk is a great alternative to cow's milk for those who are vegan or looking for a dairy-free option. Oatly oat drink is also free of cholesterol and lactose, making it an ideal choice for those with dairy sensitivities or allergies. It is also a good choice for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint. The main downside is that it is more expensive than cow's milk. However, I think it is worth the price if you are looking for a healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to dairy milk.
